Porcini mushrooms are a gourmet delicacy that can enhance the flavor of many kinds of dishes. Dried porcini mushroom pieces must be softened before using. Soak the needed amount in hot water for 10 to 15 minutes. After they are rehydrated, measure and treat the porcinis as you would any fresh mushroom. Don’t discard the soaking liquid, it is full of flavor.
