Sulphured Peach Halves
Aromatic peaches have a sweet, unique flavor. Their yellow gold color with red tones make them as visually appealing as they are tasty to eat. Fresh peaches aren’t always in season and available which makes dried peaches a ripe alternative. They have lower sugar content than other fruit but are high in fibers, vitamin A, minerals, and salts. Our dried sulphured peach halves are a wonderful change from the other well-known dried fruits with a nice chewy texture and no added sugar.
Like many drupes, peaches contain vitamins A, C, and E. Drupes are fruits that grow with a pit or While some of the vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber are reduced in its dried form, they are still a healthier snack than any junk food you might crave.
Vitamin A comes from the beta-carotene and helps maintains healthy skin, eyes, and teeth. Vitamin C is important for immune system health and helps prevent heart disease, cancer, and stroke. Vitamin E is also essential in preventing cancer and heart disease. The high fiber content in peaches makes them good for digestive health.
Peaches first originated in China but were introduced to the United States in the mid-1500s. Peaches grow best in warm sunny climates like Florida, Alabama, and California. 50% of all peaches now grow in California, although Georgia is the “Peach State” of the Us.
Dried peaches are fine eaten alone like candy or add them to yogurt, ice cream, or granola. They add a chewy texture to trail mixes and baked goods.
